Posted: Fri Jan 25, 2008 10:50 am Post subject: Week Night Chats
|
|
|
The turnout for last night's (Jan. 24) chat was sparse. Rosemary, Loricat, Chris and I were there. Where were the rest of you?
Since the turnout for the previous month's chat night was better, I'm wondering if it would be helpful if we started the weeknight chats at 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.
Another option is to change the night. Is there another week night that would be more convenient for more people than Thursday night?
The goal is to have one scheduled week night chat and one scheduled weekend chat (at noon EST or thereabout) a month. These chats used to be held on a weekly basis, but died out for lack of participation.
Hopefully, we can revive the practice. Chats are a good way to get to know a bit about the other members of the forum and to build a sense of community. With your help we can try to find the best times to schedule them so as to encourage that participation.
What's your preference?

I know this is a lame excuse, but that calandar on the main page decieved me into thinking the chat was for today. I know, I know...the dates are plainly visible, but I usually quick glance at that calandar and I always get duped into thinking the first column is the active day.
I will try to make the next chat. I do work on Monday and Thursday nights, so those are out for me. Other than that, between 7-9 is fine for me.

Sorry I was not able to attend. As my wedding approaches I am getting busier and can't always plan my schedule too far in advance. I don't know if I can say what day of the week would be best for me. Right now they are all equally bad I will try to make the chats if I can. |

Well, Constance, if you are going to let something like a wedding get in the way of your attendance, I don't know what to say.
Actually, I do know what to say. Congratulations!!! I'm sure you'll join us when you're able. In the meantime ... again ... congratulations and good luck.

Thanks so much for the warm congratulations George! I appreciate it. When we first got engaged we had almost two years until our wedding day..."plenty of time", right? Now I am down to 6 months left and the "we only have six months left!!!!! " is starting to kick in. |

I understand. As the big day approaches, you're bound to feel that way. My wife and I had a much shorter engagement, but then we had known each other for years before we got married. It has been almost 31 years now, and I wouldn't trade a minute of our life together for anything.

That's so wonderful! Congratulations on your 31 years together. Hopefully my fiance and I will feel the same after we have been married that long! |
