Meet & Greet Chat Session at 12:00 noon Eastern

To those clicking on the link in the Calendar to arrive in this thread please understand that the final chat date and time were determined to be 12:00 noon Eastern on Sunday, January 13, 2008. You can read the entire discussion thread below.

Chris, thanks for creating the new forum. This should expedite things.

We have been talking about a weekend session and have tentatively proposed one at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13.

Since that initial proposal we have had indications from Mad that the date was acceptable. Rosemary said she couldn't make it on the 13th but could be available on the 20th. Julian said he would prefer a later hour but had no problem with the date. Ophelia said the day and time didn't matter but a weekend chat would be better for her.

In view of all that, I'm going to revise my initial proposal and suggest we hold our first weekend session on Sunday, Jan 13th at Noon EST.

In a separate thread, I'm going to suggest a week night chat later in the month. Hopefully, there will be enough interest to hold one weekend session and one week night session each month. That should accommodate those who find the week nights difficult because of where they live in the world and those who find week nights more convenient for such meetings.

Obviously, these are just suggestions on my part. Feel free to offer your own or to suggest modifications in mine.

George

We have a weekend chat scheduled for Sunday, January 13th, at noon (EST).

Hopefully this will be the first of many such chats. We especially want to invite those who live in other parts of the world and find our week night chats to be inconvenient to participate in this one.

Who is planning to take part?

That will make it about 4am Monday morning for me. A little early to be up. I usually get up around quarter to six (2pm). I'll have a look in the chat room to see whether the chat is still going while I'm eating brekky but probably won't be able to stay long.

I just noticed this chat and will add it to the calendar right now. In the future it might be good to send me an email with the specific chat date and time so I can post it on the calendar and Announcement area of the forum. It is hard to read every thread in a timely fashion. Smile

It was OK for the first one. We had five people throughout. Chris dropped in for a bit but had to leave because he has something called a "job" that needed his attention.

Ophelia, Niall, Penelope, Jales4 and I talked about a variety of things (I hope I'm not leaving anyone out). I dropped the ball on getting Chris to list this one on the calendar. I think we'll try again on the Second Sunday next month. But it is a moveable feast. Cool

We are planning a weeknight chat at 9 a.m. on the 24th.
