About me:
I'm a freshman at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I'm a SMALL town boy living in a big city. I'm studying Mechanical Engineering. I've loved math and science forever. I haven't had much time to look at many posts in the intros. section, but I feel that I'm probably pretty young for the forum. However, don't be concerned I bet I can hold my own. If you want to know anything else about me just ask. I'm pretty excited to get involved here. Thanks!!
Where do you live?
Small town in Southern Illinois and Evanston, IL
How old are you?
18
Are you a male or female?
male
How did you find BookTalk?
Well, my friend is really involved in a television online community(televisionwithoutpity.com if you are interested.). She seems to show a true connection with it. It inspired me to joined a community composed of people that love what I love. I used to read a lot more when I was younger. I hope that this community will help me get back to how I used to be.
What type of books do you enjoy the most?
I really love fiction. I haven't had much experience with non-fiction, but I know I could appreciate it. |

Hello, Leatherbound, and welcome!
You are the second college student to join Booktalk within two days (you may want to check our new friend from Dixieland), this is exciting!
Then, studying maths and science sounds like a breath of fresh air, it's wonderful to have such varied interests.
What are your favourite fiction books?
I hope you will feel like joining our discussions, or creating your own... |

Another college student! Maybe we could start a BookTalk fraternity or something.
Welcome aboard! |

Hey leatherbound. Nice handle for a book forum, btw. Welcome aboard. No worries about your age. We grizzled vets (or so I’ve been called recently) love to see young, fresh blood…uh, I mean, faces.
I had a friend who attended Northwestern and absolutely loved it. I don’t see him much anymore—you know, busy using that Northwestern degree.
What type of fiction do you read, when you do get around to it?
Hope to see you around on the forum. |

Welcome...I like your name too...but for other reasons. In another time, I was a leather worker...dealing in making people "leather-bound".
Anyway...looking forward to seeing you around the forums.

Mr.P.'s a dirty bird, Leatherbound. Just ignore him.
*Psst....Mr.P., I had the same thought.* |

See what I mean, Leatherbound, dirty bird.
And I don't need restraints, Mr.P., I can keep people where I want them just with a withering look.
BTW, Leather, are you on winter break this time of year? Either way, I just wanted to give you the head's up that we're in the midst of scheduling a chat for some of the new and old members to talk in an informal setting. Give us a holler in this thread to let us know your availability. |
