This blog will include brief comments on diverse topics of concern in our time. They will sometimes come from the ZNet sustainer forum system where Noam interacts through a forum of his own, sometimes from direct submissions, sometimes culled from mail and other outlets -- always from Noam Chomsky.
Enjoy!

This Blog developed just as many had feared- take a few moments and examine the amount of hate-spam that clogs the discussion.
It's quite telling how a person who is able to confront and expose the basic assumptions and beliefs of a Nation, and show the irrational, immoral, and dangerous threads thruout....it's frightening to see the depth of insult and vadalization people will stoop to to silence such work.
On the other hand, there is some carefully articualted discussion amid the waste, and some people very adept at challenging Chomsky's analysis. |

It is rather unfortunate that it attracts such offal but one poster took a rather optimistic view of an otherwise depressing situation.
''Clearly the thing to do is create blogs like this to distract and occupy right-wing trolls so they don't do any actual campaigning. Seems to be working...''

| Why would you wish to stop right-wingers campaigning? Don't you believe in pluralism? What did it used to be called when only one ideology was allowed to be heard? Wasn't it fascism or something? |

Facism...right. Kinda like modern Right-wingers.
Pluralism is fine, but dualism, which we are imprisoned by in our system, is just shared facism. I am disgusted at both major parties.

Mr P, that's a fair point. You could infer from your "fascist dualism" theory that the party democratic system leads ultimately to the creation of a power elite.
If this is the case the hyping of a political schism between bible bashing rednecks and drippy anti-American leftists, could be viewed as a means of manufacturing an interest in politics and thus inflating the importance, and consolidating the power, of politicians.
