Did anyone watch the meteor showers this past weekend? I stayed up from 1:00am till 3:00am to watch on Saturday night. I saw one really cool one and 3 or 4 smaller ones.

I have seen hundreds of meteor showers while camping, and when I was in the army, some good ones were in the deserts of California and in the Saudi desert.
Meteor showers are always amazing; unfortunately I missed this last one.

I've never seen a meteor shower, but I did catch a glimpse of one taking a bath.

It would have been cool to see that meteor shower through a telescope. Does anyone have any telescope recommendations? I am thinking of getting one and would like to hear if any of you have had any good experiences or bad experiences with any particular telescopes. Also, if you have any store or website recommendations to buy one from, please pass that on!

Toys-R-us actually has some good beginner telescopes.

Hey it cleared up and warmed up in this area, so I checked the Geminid meteor shower out last night. Pretty good, worth a look, saw one or two every few minutes!

Thanks for the heads up on that meteor shower, Lan. Unfortunately, I just read your message and hadn't heard about it previously. I missed it! I am glad you caught it though!
