He makes many of the failed arguments we've seen here over the years.

Re: Yes Atheists Can Live Moral Lives: But Only if They Look Outside Their Worldview
This guy thinks he has set a trap for atheists, but everyone who gives this kind of objective morality argument neglects the rather important detail of telling us any answers to moral questions. OK, murder is wrong, got that one. Are there any exceptions? When and how much violence is appropriate for self-defense? What is our moral obligation to poor people, or to save someone else's life? When is theft acceptable? Should public policy be based on some kind of utilitarianism? What kind exactly?
Should we just look these up in the Bible? I think it says something about what to do with my donkey. Should we be confident that our answer is guided by the Holy Spirit? What about non-Christians? Do you have a moral foundation as long as you worship any God?

Does your worldview give any answers to tough questions like those?
Is that it? He doesnt give any answers, therefore he's wrong?
Reducing your morality to evolutionary/social development, can you answer any of the questions he used as exemplars?
Seriously, Im genuinely curious.
Thanks

No, that's the point. A naturalistic view of morality would not expect to have settled answers. If the theistic view, or in this case the Christian view, doesn't have any, what exactly does it do? It vaguely provides a moral foundation? Do you have any answers, with your quasi-sort of anti-atheist deism?ant wrote:Does your worldview give any answers to tough questions like those?

So your worldview does include morality guidelines?
What are they? The Ten Commandments?
Deep.
Thanks.

Well, it's your worldview that's being questioned.
Is this where you deny atheists exist?

Re: Yes Atheists Can Live Moral Lives: But Only if They Look Outside Their Worldview
So morality is just a delusion in a cold universe.good atheist — that is, a consistent atheist — recognizes this dilemma. His only reasonable conclusion is to reject objective meaning and morality. Thus, calling him “good” in the moral sense is nonsensical. There is no morally good atheist, because there really is no objective morality. At best, morality is the mass delusion shared by humanity, protecting us from the cold sting of despair.
Reduced to the very meaningless core of evolution, if one single rape does not hurt the collective survival of a tribe of people, it is not "wrong" within the context of a purposeless universe.
Oh wait - this is where the atheist claims there's objective morality.
