| Do you suppose synesthesia is more common in artists than in the general population? I think it would enhance the visual arts, music composition, and writing. |

It's probably downright annoying to smell music...
With as much bad pop music as there is going around these days, I'd imagine it's a little like stepping in dog crap everytime you walk out the front door of your house.
On a serious note, I wonder how this sort of thing would effect a program to write a doctine of knowledge taking into account the nature of human sensation and cognition, like that of Kant and Jacob Bronowski. |

I imagine that this "phenomenon" in the right person would give us a totally different take on any philosophical work...but would us mundanes be able to comprehend it?

OK, X-Men, I've got it! The word I wanted to use is manifestation or trait. The people who have this trait, ...or ...the people in whom this manifests itself...

In the paper that Cytowik wrote, (I posted the link above), he has a secton on his belief that it is emotion that rules, not logic or reason, that the higher brain is not the top gun. He has a wonderful quote:
"Reason is the endless paperwork of the mind."

"emotion rules"
Possibly...but I do try to temper that with a strong will to reason. I do not always succeed...
