The best way to sum it up is that Fury, the Grand Master of a church, must stop a coalition of power hungry lords from slaughtering a race of docile golems. He's joined by the richest man of Insel, the island continent the story takes place on, and an ancient golem named Sage, among others. There's intrigue, sieges, and the medieval combat is realistic, excluding the presence of golems at times. It explores what such a war would really do to the people involved.
