London calling!

Unread post

After reading the tips section I panicked while trying to think of an original way to introduce myself to all you folks. Failing that, I'll just go with, 'hello!' My name is Abbas Daya. I'm a newbie author. I'm from London, UK. I love reading fantasy and historical fiction but my passion is sword and sorcery - the darker the better! So I love the old masters like: Leiber, Howard, Lovecraft and Michael Moorcock. I'm too busy with either reading or writing to have much time for wider interests but when I did have a life, fantasy, keeping fit and beer were my things. Now it's just beer. I chanced upon BookTalk while trawling the net for sites to promote my book but I'm happy to be here as it gives me the chance to connect with other booklovers and I look forward to chatting with you down the road. Cheers.

Welcome to BookTalk.org, Abbas. :-)

What would you say is the difference between fantasy genre and "sword and sorcery?"

Hi Chris. Many thanks. I think that fantasy is an umbrella term and sword and sorcery is a sub genre within that along with epic fantasy, urban fantasy (?), etc.
Cheers
Abbas
