Am giving Book of Shadows by Alexandra Sokoloff a go. Just started so no opinion really yet.
Haven't read a Dean Koontz in years, though I did enjoy a few of his.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Hi all, I am reading A Dance with Dragons: A Song of Ice and Fire, by George RR Martin. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series so far. I am hoping the author will begin writing the 6th and 7th books soon. I see there is also a book discussion here for the first book which I will have check out.
"Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.”

"The Accursed", Joyce Carol Oates and "Gulag", Anne Applebaum. Horror in fiction and non fiction form. "Gulag" is well researched and well written, it has inspired me to read the works of Maxim Gorky and Alekandr Solzhenitsyn. As a Russian descendant, "Gulag" gives me a greater appreciation for my father and grandparents. It is truly scary that they all could have ended their lives there. The number of lives lost in the gulags out numbers those lost durring the holocaust. Its an almost hidden part of history. I am thankful for A. Applebaum for giving this horrific history light and I hope many people read it.

I've just started Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape. The cult of Scientology is of great interest to me.

Is that the book that was made into the movie starring Emma Stone? I've heard good things about the book and would like to read it as soon as I finish the three books I've already started.wilde wrote:"The Help." I really like it so far!
I am just your typical movie nerd, postcard collector and aspiring writer.

What interests me is reading some of the stuff L. Ron Hubbard himself wrote, both his fiction and his Scientology stuff. Very intriguing and frightening at the same time.Chris OConnor wrote:I've just started Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape.
