Check this cheeeeeeeezeball out. Not sure if the link takes you to a pic, but you should find one. The robe looks like something worn at a Moose Lodge gathering. The gold is classy. The whole ensemble says, "I'm not your boring old objective judge, whoa no. I'm serving up Christ's law bebeh! Everybody put on a bib and dig in to some down-home southern deescriminayshun! Yee-haw!"

The man is silly. The courtroom is his place of work. Like many other places of work, his requires that he wear a uniform. I am not permitted to alter my uniform, and I certainly would not be permitted to show up with the 10 commandments sewn onto the front of my uniform.
More fundamentally, this person incorrectly assumes that our legal system is based on the 10 commandments--wrongo. It would seem to me that a simple, quiet moment of reflection would reveal the fallacy, but not for this guy. A brief break-down of the error of the assertion that our laws are derived from Moses's descent from the mount is here:http://www.skepticreport.com/creationism/10command.htm. It was strange to me that the author failed to mention the inconsistency between the biblical proscription against killing, and state-sanctioned murder. |
