The photos of abuses in US prisons in Iraq is unfortunately a matter of suspicions confirmed. It always seemed that Guantanamo was extra-judicial, as was the holding prison in Afghanistan, and there were documented cases of prisoners dying under interrogation there. The west has lost the moral high ground over this. It just confirms doubts in the Arab world that the western rhetoric of 'human rights' and a 'just war' are simply hypocritical.

I guess I'm shocked they could be so incompetent to allow a prisoner to escape so easily. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy as heck for the man and his family, but it seems weird he simply ran away. But I guess its true.
