Quote:
Actor Kirk Cameron and best-selling author Ray Comfort will square off with two atheists in New York ... on ABC.com on Wednesday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m. EST.

Comfort--who claims he can prove the existence of God, scientifically, without mentioning faith or the Bible--stated, "The network originally offered me only four minutes to present my case. After speaking with Kirk and conferring with the atheists, they settled on 13 minutes. I'm ecstatic. I can prove the existence of God in that amount of time."

So who are the atheists? Are they representatives that can hold their own or are they going to be 2 do-dos off the street offered up as straw men?

I would like to see Penn and Teller take these guys on, not only would we get intelligent debate but a show to boot.

I will be watching this.

Thanks for the heads up.

I dont know who the atheists are, but Kirk Cameron is a total fucktard.

I think this quote from the link is extremely revealing. Two fully identified people (names and professions listed) "square off" with who? Two random, generically identified "atheists." Talk about reducing marginalized individuals to tags. Whoever those “atheists” are, they should have refused to participate after that sentence—I didn’t even bother reading the rest of the advertisement.

That’s exactly what prompted me to ask the question above. This looks to be a setup, but these nuts claim to be able prove gods existence in 13 minutes. That should be worth a look, even if it is just to get a laugh from.

Has anyone seen this? It was even more ridiculous a year ago, with just Cameron leading us though a path of inane questions that was supposed to shake ones foundations and promote god as the answer.

FUCKTARDS UNITE!

If you listen, at one point Cameron says we need to "bypass the intellect and speak right to the conscience".

That is indeed the only way to believe this crap...emotional crap over thinking.

Mr. P.

Well I watched some of the debate and it appears that the atheists quite easily stomped poor Kirk and his weasel buddy deep into the ground.

The atheists did very well, calling every fowl that the theists dished out. I haven’t watched the entire recording yet but it looks like another win for our side.

The two atheists were from a group called the Rational Response Group; they actually prefer not to have their real names aired because of the death threats that their show commonly receives.

They admit that some of their arguments were poorly made; yet Kirk and Ray seemed lost and confused at several points during the debate. While watching I even felt a little sorry for them. Kirk and Ray used old arguments and really had nothing new to offer, the rational response was quick, harsh and decisive having countered all of these arguments in the past.

The debate was so one sided that afterwards the rational responders offered a hug to Kirk and Ray because they had so completely humiliated them on national television; even they felt bad.

It was really fun to watch, if you are an atheist anyway.

My goodness, how embarrassing. To ridicule the concept of transitional fossils, Cameron holds up drawings of imaginary creatures like the "Crocoduck". ::74

Not sure if this will work, but you might find video links below. The first one is titled "Face-Off: Can you prove God exists?"
