Return of a King: The Battle for Afghanistan

Unread post

Return of a King: The Battle for Afghanistan - A fascinating story of the First Afghan War,who are the most stupid in planning and execution.
Dalrymple has done much original research for this book and has uncovered previously unknown facts.
Lacey spent three years there and apparently had access to members of the royal family.
He paints a picture of the King trying, gradually, to liberalise the country but afraid to go too fast.
Have you read it?? If not then try to read it you will like it.
