| I'm happy to see so many people voting and planning to participate in this short story discussion. Let's leave this poll up for the weekend -- closing it on Sunday, May 18th. |

I'm glad you folks have chosen short story collections for the coming month(s). I love short stories!
My 3 votes go to Exile And The Kingdom by Albert Camus. I checked out Camus and this book on Wikipedia and I'm curious to see what's all this existentialism and philosophical takes on his books is about. |

I'm casting my three votes for Exile and the Kingdom.

P.S. Michael Dirda reviewed a new biography of Camus in last week's Wasnington Post "Book World." |

One positive to Exile and the Kingdom is that it appears to be available for FREE online. And last time I checked "free" beats the hell out of just about any other price. |

LOL I'd rather people actually participate in book discussions than make referral fees off the books.
The poll will be coming down tomorrow evening. Anyone that hasn't voted that wants to vote should vote now. |

Three votes for Exile and the Kingdom.
My reasons include:
- I read enough American works already.
- I should have read Camus before now, so here's a good chance to remedy that omission.
- For my first book discussion at BookTalk I'd prefer a consistent collection to a hodge podge. |

I'm going to close this poll right now. The winner is Exile and the Kingdom with 17 votes.
Someone (I think Ophelia) showed us where Exile and the Kingdom is available for free online, so I'll do my best to provide links to one or more sites where we can all access this book and save a little bit of money. |
