Well, I REALLY wanted to vote for "The Gas we Pass"

Unfortunately, I decided to get serious for a moment. I don't think the publishing book is really appropriate for this forum (no offense to those that do), and the Goulad sounds too depressing for the grey months ahead. I just finished 'God against the gods' which discusses a similar topic, but in a different time period, so I think that 'Battle for God' is where my three votes should go.

I'll put all 3 towards Battle for God as the Gulag is running second and I'm not at all interested in that.

Otherwise I'd've put a vote towards Too Many Books, which also interests me.

But I'm not actually voting for Too Many Books, oh ye vote-counters! :lol

Three votes for Battle for God!

We don't want a Washington-state Governor's-race vote-counting type of battle here, do we?

Battle for God does look to be in a good position. If we can expect to have thirteen people vote, nine so far, so thirteen seems high, but if fifteen, if the tenth through thirteenth voters put all their votes for the second place book, Gulag, it would still be down by one vote. This would mean that the statistical likelihood of Gulag or So Many Books winning is rather low at this point. But I wholeheartedly encourage all potential voters to vote their consciences with regard to what book(s) they would like to see us read.

I vote for the "The Battle for God" with 3 votes. Gulag sounds interesting but I would rather read Battle for God at this time. As well, it looks like it will have a pretty good majority of the votes and my library has several copies available.

"The Battle for God" is the clear victor and will be our 1st Quarter 2005 book selection. I'll soon have a direct link to the book on Amazon.com, so hold off on ordering it folks! BookTalk is paid a small referral fee for each book bought through those links you see all over our community.
