Some people have found a novel to have changed their lives in either a positive or negative way. Maybe made the reader see something differently or change the way they think. If this has happened to you I have a few questions for you.
What novel do you feel has changed your life in a significant way?
When did you read this book? Was there anything going on in your life at the time that made you feel a certain way about the book?
Did somebody recommend this novel to you or did u just come across it yourself?
What ideas did the novel give you?
What was the theme of the book? Why do you feel that the author wrote about this particular subject? Would you have done something different?
Is there anything special and interesting about this book that makes it different than others you have read?
Would you recommend this book to anybody else? If so who and why?
Was the cover of the book attractive?
For any of you that actually take the time to do this I greatly appreciate it. Thanks. |

Hello frankiefigs1,
Nice to meet you.
Would you like to write an introduction in the "Introduce Yourself" threads and tell us a little about yourself and the books you read? |

Years ago, Somerset Maugham wrote a book called "Ten Books That Changed the World" (I think that was the title). Some were novels and some were non-fiction. I can't remember all the books he chose, but I remember one was Darwin's Origin of the Species and another was Uncle Tom's Cabin. Supposedly, when President Lincoln met Harriet Beacher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom's Cabin, he said, "So you're the little lady who started the Civil War."
