No Country- VI- The ending.
VI- The ending.
Did you feel surprised, or disappointed?
Why do you think McCarthy chose such an ending?

I wasn't surprised . . . I knew Bell would want to quit all along.
I would have liked more elaboration on Chigurgh - but the author has chosen not to tell us whether he's still alive or not.
This isn't at the end, but the only part that really 'disappointed' me was when Moss got killed and his young wife shortly after. I hoped they were going to pull through it all.

Moss's death and the subsequent death of his wife did not surprise me. I just did not see this story ending well for anybody. I liked the fact that Chigurgh remained an enigma all the way through.

Everything left to be told got told . . . there was nothing else to tell.
