Are you male or female? female

Where are you from? I live in Logan, UT, USA

What are your hobbies or special interests? skiing, road biking, reading, dabbling

What sort of books do you enjoy reading? I wish I knew the common thread in what I like because then it would be so much easier to pick a new book with confidence. I usually find if a friend recommends it, it will most likely be worthwhile. If I discuss it with my local book club afterwards, even the books I didn't like become worthwhile. I'm currently reading a Dance with Dragons, so I'll have to figure out how to join the Game of Thrones discussion. I'm also reading Fever by Mary Beth Keane for my local book club. I just finished Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo. Loved it! I'm thinking of reading Science was Born of Christianity so I can join in that discussion here.

How did you find BookTalk.org? Google. I was specifically looking for an online book discussion forum. Good job Google. Good job BookTalk.org!

Hello! And welcome! Dance with Dragons is the only book in that particular series I have not read yet. I've been holding off, forcing myself to savor it when I finally do read it! You found this site the same was I did, by search engine, so that's good for this site, that it ranks highly enough to keep driving traffic this way. There's lots of good book discussions here, and a new nonfiction book discussion is getting ready to start up. I've been wanting to go to UT, it's a beautiful area, and has some of the awesomest natural formations in its state parks.

Hi whitney and welcome to Book Talk. :) Quite a few years ago, when my children were still children, I lived in Salt Lake City where I worked for the federal government. I am a semi-retired attorney, small scale cattle rancher (hence my handle), who loves to read and dabbles in writing. My daughter, son-in-law and 2 granddaughters live north of you in Jackson, Wyoming, and they are also into skiing and mountain biking. I read almost anything in print, but especially like science-fiction. I have read all five of the Game of Thrones novels. And don't be afraid to jump right in to the discussions. We sometimes growl and one another, but we don't bite.
