| I really like the new improvements you've made to the website, Chris. Moving the book discussion forums to the top of the forum list clearly shows BookTalk's main purpose, and the green bar of new links at the top of the forum pages helps to make the forums user-friendly for newcomers. |

I found this site right before you made the changes, and I must admit that my first thought was 'Where's the book talk?' I like seeing the book discusions up at the top.
The site looks great.

| I like it very much, Chris. Quick easy way to find info and doesn't look bad. |

Looks very nice! You've made some great improvements to the site over the last few days. As many others have pointed out, the place looks more 'BookTalky'. I would imagine this will bring in more memebers, as the board now immediately looks unique; where as before it looked, at a first glance like 'just another discussion community'.
My one problem is with the book database: First of all, there are too many graphics. It takes a long time to load on dial-up even at this early stage (and this will get worse as the database gets bigger). Perhaps a 'text only' option would be nice? Second; there is no information about the book. I know that I could click my way through onto amazon and read the reviews there, but I would like to be able to read some comments about it first (and then later do further research on amazon if I am so inclined). Maybe there should be a 'comments' section where members can post - in particular the member who suggested the book in the first place.
Just some ideas. Keep up the good work chris! |
