You guys are going to flip when you see the new
Forum Statistics page we've just added. The link will always be found in the left sidebar "
Links & Resources" box, but you have to be logged into your BookTalk account to see the stats page.
I have spent over an hour just playing around with all the stats. The possibilities are endless. Think about how much fun we can have with this new information.
I'd like to design contests to run each month or even more often. The stats found on the
Forum Statistics page will keep everyone abreast of who is winning each contest.
Contest Ideas:
Most Active Topicstarter - wins a book
Top posting users this month - top 3 win books
Top posting users this week - win a book
Most Active Poll Starter - wins a new car
Top album posters this month [January 2008] - wins a book
Top album posters this week [Mon - Thu] - wins a book
...stuff like that
I will need some time to learn how the stats work and I could use some help figuring out some fun contests where we can encourage both quality and quantity of posts. The above stats that measure for an entire month might not work. Imagine if we did a contest for all of January to award the free books in February. On February 3rd we look at the "Top posting users this month" section only to find it has switched to February and the Jan. stats are missing. I will have to see if stats are stored after a month passes.
I believe they are not stored so we would have to run contests for the first 3 weeks of each month. Then we have a week to announce the winner.
Ok, gotta go to bed. I am rambling nonsense.
