Very cool! I have always believed the arts should be available to all and a part of everyday life. My daughter is into guerrilla art; which is an attempt to bring art directly to people - onto the very street itself. I believe good or successful arts make us feel or think - tells us something about what it means to be alive or to be human. Art wakes and expands us.

Grim, you seriously don't find these guys amazingly talented? Something tells me you're not much into this style of music and it is more a matter of personal taste. I can't picture you enjoying this sort of music and still not declaring their talent to be truly amazing. Could this be the case?

Now that I've run a Google search for this group I see that it isn't just me thinking they're incredibly talented. Listen again. This isn't just a group of kids that are singing on subways for fun. They are a real band with multiple albums and a worldwide fan base growing daily.

I want to add something. I have always loved black music because of the emotion they put into their creation. Long ago when I was a child living at the Cleveland Christian Home there was this black lady that took care of us kids. Her name was Ms. Prince and she had hair on her chest....but that's another story. Shocked

The point is I always loved music, even back then, and I'd talk to Ms. Prince about the music playing on the radio once in a while. We share our passion for music even though I was only about 10 years old and she must have been 30ish.

Well, I remember telling her that there was something different about black music that I couldn't put my finger on, but I could feel it more deeply. It literally moves you emotionally. Not that other musical genres can't and don't do the same, but I found it to be predominant in the black music back then and still to this day. She laughed and said that what I'm hearing and feeling is called "soul," and she was happy I could appreciate something like that at my age.

Her words stuck with me my whole life. To this day I love all sorts of music. I can't even say I have a favorite because my favorite changes from hour to hour. And I am aware that I shouldn't label any genre of music as "black music," but quite frankly you all should get my point and I am not out to be politically correct.
