| Finally, legislation to increase the federal minimum wage should be hitting the floor for a House vote today. In two years and 60 days the minimum wage will reach $7.25 an hour. Hardly a huge amount. It's interesting that this has been part of the Democrat agenda for a while now (I remember hearing talk of it in 2005) and yet it couldn't get to a House vote until now. But the Republican Congress was watching out for the working person. Anyway, here's the link. |

Oh, but the fiscal conservatives will just argue that the increase in wages will be passed on to the consumer, of which many are those who currently make mininum wage, so the increase won't help them out.
Yes, because economics really is that simple! Someone who ends up making two dollars more per hour is going to be paying almost the exact amount more in all his goods! Surrreeee!
