It didn't work initially, but this morning I tested out Firefox and found it worked fine and kept me logged in on BT. So the problem was apparently limited to Safari. I did some research and learned that Safari sometimes does't properly purge your cookie plist when you clear the cache. So I did it manually, literally dragging the cookie plist to the trash and emptying it before restarting Safari. It seems to have fixed the problem. The weird thing is that on my laptop it appears that Safari
does properly purge the cookie plist (you can see this because the file size goes from 1.5 mb to 4 k) but I was having the same problem. Is it possible that the cookie file on my desktop computer was screwing up my settings here on BT and causing my laptop to suffer the same issue? That doesn't seem likely. In any event, things appear to be functioning properly now.
