Hi,
I just finished reading this book by Gabriel García Márquez.
It was written in 1985 i think.
I enjoyed it, although i found it a bit hard to read, like the first 100 pages.
Mostly because i was not used to read long sentences.
It seems to me that Spanish-speaking authors tend to write long sentences, unlike English-speaking authors who tend to write shorter sentences. Do you concur ?
Anyways, it is a book about unrequited love, about aging, about love at a very old age ...
Near the end of the book, there is a surprising incestuous relationship between Florentino Ariza and a teenager.
But of course the main topic is the neverending love that Florentino Ariza has for Fermina Danza.
Overall it is a sweet story. Many aspects of love are explored: fidelity, sex, passion, feelings etc
