Tis a select troupe
This fragmented group
of BookTalk.Org dwellers

Come loaded for bear
or no real care
its talk of best sellers
and some real smellers
you'll see there

its true that some may muck it
others will toss in the bucket
though for a love of words
some for the birds

its a place to be found
when no one's around
for us to relate of histories great writers,

with perhaps a goal in mind
to merely unwind and end up
pulling all nighters.

I have read this and have the movie adaptation with Diana Rigg.

"The Tree of Knowledge"

Above me hung books from a tree
They grew there from what I could see
I read while in college
Of the fabled “Tree of Knowledge”
And realized it was right before me!

I jumped and I grabbed what I could
I probably grabbed more than I should
From the tree fell the books
From my friends I drew looks
But I think I did as you would

As I plopped down beneath the great tree
Delicious piles of books covered me
The books I did read
With exceptional speed
Made me aware that books are the key

Now knowledge doesn’t really grow on trees
And sex isn’t about birds or bees
But sometimes it is nice
To rhyme good advice
So read as much as you please!

Stahrwe's limerick was damn good. I also was quite impressed with Bleachededen's limerick about Mark Twain.
