Jack F. Murdoch's debut, John Gage: Milton Valley
Recently, I bought a copy of . Not a massive fan of Westerns, I went into it expecting a terrible time reading it, but I bought it because it was short. 5 chapters in length, it's an easy read and only £3.45 (inc. VAT).
The use of hyper-reality to incept modern elements of linguistic, comedy, satire and crime created a much wider variety offocal points. I started reading and could not put it down. I found out, after reading, that the Western genre was merely the setting and certain stylised aspects of the narrative.
Thoroughly enjoying the experience, I await volume 2 onwards, as Murdoch has stated that his aim is to release an issue every month, 9 months of the year.
Memorable characters and humour, the book is for everyone, readers and non-readers alike. I believe anyone can pick it up and enjoy it, it's short but not too short and has just enough to make you willing to read more.
Check it out and discuss it. I want to know if I'm the only one who finds it a absolutely great read.
