I do accept and live with uncertainty to a degree. For example, I don't know with certainty how I came to be a conscious being typing this right now; I don't know how or why matter and life exist. But these are not moral uncertainties. I am very concerned about having definite answers to moral questions. I don't in fact have certainty in every case, but regarding the hypothetical question that the Rob Bell controversy involves, the answer is an easy call. That it isn't for you, that you must retreat behind "only God knows," I would think should cause you some concern. The "Are all Hindus/Musllms/Jews in hell?" question is a litmus test for Christian believers. Unless they answer unequivocally "no," they are on the wrong moral side.

Requiring moral certainty without a certain Moral Lawgiver strikes me as untenable.
