YOUR INVITATION HAS ARRIVED Your participation is requested in a progressive story party
Please join us in BookTalk’s progressive story! As your host I will provide you with the opening line. Each invited participant can then add one sentence. Thrills, suspense and surprises await as the story progresses. No RSVP is necessary, but a creative dress code is required. Also, it is not polite to be fashionably late.
The doors have now opened; the beginning of the story is the following:
"I've told you a thousand times, do I have to act it out for you?"
Please add one sentence to this opening. Allow other members to respond before you come back to the buffet table for seconds. Each member is allowed to come back to the story and add additional sentences, but only one sentence at a time.
I hope you all enjoy this event, and I look forward to your attendance.

Making sure not to get one of his quills lodged in his ass again as he had done countless times before, Rolip the old porcupine, made his way down off the bar stool and was determined to convince the drunk crowd that it was indeed possible with fractal geometry.

"There goes the neighborhood," the bartender said with a sigh, as he pressed the alarm button under the bar, setting off a loud siren that blared across the small, smoky room, and a panel in the wall that led to the bar's panic room opened with a defiant creak of rusting metal.

Unfortunately for Rolip, the exceptionally large tank was filled with several genetically engineered, giant Humboldt squid, who hadn't eaten since the last poor sap got stuck in the same spot a week earlier.

The squid slithered out of the tank and over Rolip one tentacle at a time, watching his face turn from horror to confusion as she squirmed into the panic room, leaving a trail of water and slime on the floor, the door, and the inside lever she pulled with her frontmost tentacle to close the panic room door, leaving Rolip muttering curses under his breath on the other side.
