Maybe it would also be neat to explore the kind of circumstances under which one would like to live forever.It seems likely that you'd want to avoid the really serious decripitude of old age. I don't know that you'd necessarily want to stay the same age forever, but you'd want to attenuate the physical process of aging to some degree. You'd also want to avoid serious disability, I would think. And you'd just as likely want to remain cognizant for the duration. But I think I'd also want some garuntee that I wouldn't lapse into several centuries of boredom. The problem with immortality, it seems to me, is that there's no way out if the circumstances conspire to create a living hell.
