Rather than simply talking movies as you would in any other movie-related message board, we could use this subforum as a way to integrate our movie-watching into the topics that we would normally cover in Book Talk. For instance, we could talk about "The Matrix" specifically in terms of the philosophical issues related to it, or how it relates to the religious issues we've discussed in the philosophy subforum. The key would be inter-relatedness. Rather than merely talk about a movie, we'd be talking about movies and the issues that relate them to our other discussions.

Just throwing the idea out there since this forum is still taking shape.

I think that is what Chris wanted to do initially...we talked about this last year sometime.

Let's all try to focus on keeping the discussions relevant to what we are about. Good suggestion Mad.

As the post count goes up in this forum we can start to focus more, but right now I'm just hoping members jump in and discuss any movie they want to discuss.

I'd love if someone created a poll with some movie choices and we all watched one together and then discussed it.

I like your idea,Chris, of doing a watch-along. Your poll on favorite types of movies would be a good starting point for trying to decide which movies should be on the watch-along poll. Perhaps, after more people reply to it, we'll have an idea of what kind of movies a majority of us would like to see.
