Anything that is except trashy romance or stuff by L Ron Hubbard. I'm a guy from Boston, I've been reading for as long as I can remember. My parents taught me and my siblings at a young age, mostly I think to keep us out of their hair (although a love of reading runs deep in my family). When I was in third grade I did a book report on It by Steven King. I got an F and a parent teacher conference, but my parents told my teacher that our family rule was that if we can read then we can read it. Still had to suck up the F though. I'll read just about anything, but my favorites are horror, SF, fantasy and pop-science. I just finished reading Neverland by Douglas Clegg and I'm not sure how I feel about it, it's one of those that I'll need to reread before I form an opinion I think.

Aside from reading I like video games, playing guitar, raising/training bonsai and I'm getting into stone sculpture. I'm also an animal lover, particularly cats. I also, oddly enough, enjoy rearranging furniture. It's kind of like Tetris.

I have a friend who likes the same stuff as me, but he doesn't like to discuss. I have another friend who is a professor of Romance era literature but what she reads is way over my head. So I found this place on a google search and I'm hoping I'll find some people to talk about books with.

I know my entire handle is a bit unwieldy, feel free to call me Draco. I just like the full name, it amuses me.

Bonsai and sculpture! I made a human head out of river clay about 10 years ago. It looked realistic, just like Tim Allen(not by choice). Welcome to Booktalk.org!

Welcome! We have some things in common: SF, guitar, dislike of romance and L. Ron, sculpture (though mine is in wood), and cats. I’m including below a little photoshopped thing I did of one of my cats, who had an incredible life, constantly attempting to prove the theory that they have nine of them. His name was Cinnamon, and though you can’t tell it here, his left forearm was permanently frozen in one position, as a result of repairs that involved implantation of a steel pin following a car accident (his second). He was a hell of a cat, who would probably have been a barroom brawler had he been human. Though we did not feed him beer, he once knocked one over (purposely, we have to assume) and slurped up a good bit before we could stop him. I put this together years after his death as a tribute to his bawdy spirit.
