Hello from Richmond Va
Hi all. Newbie's first post.
I like to read historical and fiction work, but recently read a few sci-fi novels on my kindle. I have a thing for one-word titled books.. don't know why. Maybe its the simplicity. Who knows?
I had always been interested in writting, then around 2002 or so (not sure anymore) I met an author (Lisa Rogak) in the Charlotte, NC airport. From there I wrote a management book and now I've finished my first novel, a historical fiction named ASTRAL. I am currently working on my next book, a zombie novel. So far, I think it's better than Astral.

Re: Hello from Richmond Va
Hi Eric. Read your bio on Amazon, and it sounds like you have a lot of life experience to draw on in your writings. Interestingly, I, too, have a penchant for one-word titles. My two recent novels are titled "Barbara" and "CUTE," with a third on the way with the working title "Gravity." Unfortunately, the latter title is undergoing serious debate among my editors, so I'm probably going to have to come up with something new (or they are). Right now, the only thing I've been able to think of is "Karmage," a play on the word "carnage" with a reference to the two main themes: karma and aging. It probably won't fly, but at least it's still one word, even if the word is one of my own creation. Anyway, welcome to Booktalk.

LeBeaux - Thanks for checking out my bio!
LOL... I hadn't met anyone else with the one-word-title bug like me. Glad to know i'm not the only one . Without knowing what your books are about, I would say that the title "Gravity" does sound good and would get me to find out what it's about. I like it... but don't know if it applies to the rest of your book.
Your books available on the kindle? I'll check out your link to CUTE when I get home tonight.

My books are available in trade paperback, on the Kindle, and for all other electronic reader formats, the latter through a website you might want to check out. It's called Smashwords, and they carry only electronic books, plus they offer a lot of free information on how to promote your books. Posting your books there is free, and if you're interested, the site is at:

Welcome to BookTalk, kasteer.
Astral does sound interesting.
Would you describe it as a crime/revenge novel with historical elements or as a detailed historical fiction?
Also, did you name your character Thomas Wolfe as reference to the author or is that a coincidence?
Thank you very much! I'd describe is somewhere between revenge and suspense maybe. I hadn't thought about that while writing it. I do have historical notes/facts at the end of each chapter that has historical relevance. I think of it kind of like Forest Gump, which touches on historical figures/historical activities as a way to supliment the movie (like Elvis learning the hip-shake from Forest). The historical parts are taken to support the story and the story is designed to fit in those historical times.
The name was a coincidence, or at best, subconcience action. I realized it when I was looking at my book shelves one day and saw Tom Wolfe's book sitting there.
