So, what did you think of the Hanson chat? Here's my reaction.
First of all, it was neat to converse with the well-known author of an essay I disagreed with. That's not an opportunity I had before.
I didn't confront him with my opinions, and he didn't take the bait when I nudged him towards my disagreement.
Basically, he strongly opposes "top-heavy" structures. However, as a liberal, I strongly support many government actions, such as business regulation, environmental regulation, building infrastructure, research, and helping the less fortunate. Though Hanson didn't say so explicitly, his philosophy conflicts with those government programs. |
