Grounded punishment: NO LIBRARY VISITS! Eeeep!

I am an artist, author and activist in Southern California. I LOVE to read. As a child my family was always reading. While other children got grounded from TV, we got grounded from the library. My longest surviving fantasy is to have a reading room. It will be lined with books from floor to ceiling and have a big comfy couch and lamp in the middle with a bright window letting in sunlight to read by.

I have tons of book recommendations. I read a lot of fiction up into my early twenties. The past few years it has been almost only non-fiction.

I just published my first book and it has made me SO HAPPY! I also published a book of my art. My mentor suggested I join a book forum so I could share my book with more people.

A reading room would really be nice. But I'd want a comfy chair and not a couch or I'd want to lay down and fall asleep. I've found it hard to get much reading done while asleep.

I recently went to the Adam's homestead in Quincy Mass. This is the personal library of John Quincy Adams. It has over 14,000 books.

Wow! If I had that many books I would have to open up a library. Did you get to read any of the books?

That is neat. I saw a private reading room once when I was a child. It was a friend of my grandparents. I think it wasn't as big as my memory of it since I was around 9 or 10 years, but still it stuck. I vaguely remember them telling me to go in there and read while they visited. My grandparents really knew how to deal with me.
