Yes, but a great many of ideas come from the actual cases people report.
Just because they were reported doesn't make them true.
Uh huh..well I have presented my case. Up to now, it is all about what one WANTS to believe. It is an opinion on whether to accept information or not. In the end, like religion, like E.T.'s, it all comes down to stubborness. Is one so stubborn that they will believe it and no one can take that away from them, or visa versa. It all comes down to what one wants to belief, which is totally fine.

Um...no. It's about proof. Science. Evidence. Even on The X-Files, it was about what evidence was involved in the case, and if there wasn't enough to make any hard claims, no claim was made. Maybe Mulder believed it, but that doesn't mean it happened, not to mention we're talking about FICTIONAL CHARACTERS here.
It's still about proof. Evidence. You have none. You take offense to someone saying that it's all in your head, but if you're talking about getting people to "believe," Mr. Mulder, with no hard, physical evidence to support the claims, then yes, it is all in your head, and the heads of those who "believe." Belief is not proof. Say that again with me, BELIEF IS NOT PROOF. I could believe that my stuffed animals come alive when I'm not around and have wild parties while everyone's sleeping, but that wouldn't mean it happened. And if I'm "stubborn" because I'd rather not believe some crackpot theories about aliens and gods without any evidence of anything other than what some crazy people have reported, than I will gladly live out the rest of my stubborn days without believing, and I won't feel one millisecond of regret.

Actually, there are reasons to validate some beliefs over others. An extreme example, to clarify what I mean, is on certain moral beliefs. Believing that wierd women are witches and should be burned is invalidated morally. Believing that the Earth is young is invalidated scientifically. Each can be expanded on and supported with sound reasoning and evidence. Using "whatever you want" as a criterion for selecting beliefs is foolish. And we do select our beliefs, daily, bit by bit, piece by piece. Otherwise we're as stagnant and intellectually arrogant as YEC's.

What I am saying is everyone can believe what one wants to believe. I have my evidence, but whats-her-face calls me a crackpot for believing it. *shrug* Doesn't mean it's not true. Could just be that she is ignorant. Could be that I am accepting things too easily. Either way, something is going on that is far from just imagination, which I have shown in my previous posts with links and ideas and stories (which no one wants to believe because no one wants to change their way of thinking).

Thanks John for explaining this key to your philosophy, which is also shared by other trolls on this website. If you can be totally obstinate in ignoring what everybody else says, it is extremely easy to believe impossible things. Rational people just find it hard to master the obstinacy trick.

This is simply a false statement. Nobody is accepting your conclusions because the evidence doesn't support them. People aren't rejecting your conclusions because they are afraid of changing their minds. This is passing the buck. Take accountability for the fact that your arguments don't hold enough water to sway your audience. It is not fair to say that your audience is not accepting your arguments because of some sort of character flaw in your audience.
