Geralyng read about you in the New York Times

Unread post

Hello out there in book-reading land! I am a freelance writer in Maryland. I am female and have worked from home for about 30 years. What started out as a great way to work and raise three kids at the same time turned into something I kept doing even after the kids went off to college and careers. I write under contract for mostly nonprofit organizations, mostly about issues affecting older adults (which means I never run out of things to write about).

I enjoy reading novels, but lately non-fiction history has also interested me. I am also addicted to newspapers (although I don't read any of them on paper anymore).

I read about this group this morning in the New York Times and thought I would check it out. Looking forward to communicating with other readers.

Hello Geralyng,

It is so nice to see people joining from the New York Times article.

I work from home too and can no longer picture having to work the common 9 to 5 job. The freedom of reporting to nobody but myself is wonderful.

Look around the forums and get involved in any discussions that look appealing. And if you have questions just ask.

Welcome to BookTalk.org. :-)

Nice to meet you, Geralyng. Good to learn the word is getting out about BookTalk. Like Suzanne suggested, explore the site. It has a lot to offer. Good people on here and spirited, intelligent debate too. :)
