I just recently joined booktalk. I'd like to say a few words about my book, French Dirt: The Story of a Garden in the South of France. It's the story of a year I spent in a small (pop. 211) village in Provence, about an hour west of Avignon. It's a story of sun, dirt, air, dirt, work and of the sublime pleasure of having a garden all to myself in the South of France. The garden was the way I was able to enter into the lives of the villagers in the little corner of France outside of time. I hope you read it. Thanks very much. Richard Goodman
