Note from the author:I began writing Confessions of a Virgin in May of 2009. It is my first novel. Though it is about teenagers, the language and content is real and racy but no different from my memory of high school. The obvious theme is loss of innocence: A contemporary tale of a girl coming of age. She struggles with power against her male peers and the realization that even though she still has her virginity, the boys took her innocence long ago.
It’s not just for girls or for the younger generation! I’ve incorporated sports, cars, a roofie, a trip to “Hooters”, a “Fight Club” reference, porn and BEER. The characters use text messages, chat boxes and ‘like’, all the glorious abbreviations used by teens, today. However, Victoria, the main character, is sophisticated and created purposely to hook the attention of a more mature reader.
