having learned so much....
I finished the book! I haven't read non-fiction in AGES and I really couldn't put this book down!
I think one of the most important things Pollan discussed (and what I am going to try to take with me) was the true cost of a meal. And who actually really pays for it.
I am now on a quest to try to eat seasonally, to explore mushrooms a bit more, to really delve into the local resources we have out here, and to think about my meals more.
My brother goes to a boarding school in Iowa which is on a self-sufficient farm. I visited recently and after every meal, they announce what came from the farm and everyone applauds. I really enjoyed thinking of my meals that way and am glad to know that there are pockets of people out there that do so.
