BookTalk.org News for April 1, 2008

Several new features have been added to our forums.

You can now bookmark a topic so that you have easy access to it on your next visit to the forums. On every topic you will see a "Bookmark topic" link in the upper left corner. Click this link to place a virtual bookmark in that topic.

Then, when you wish to view all of the topics you have bookmarked, just click on the "Bookmarks" link situated below the green navigation bar near the top of the page.

Thank you LanDroid!
LanDroid has volunteered to lead the book discussion for The Age of American Unreason. Please consider joining that book discussion today.

Spoiler
If you are about to make a post that might reveal plot details that your fellow readers might not want to know just yet, please consider using the new "Spoiler" BBCode button.

Thank you for the donations!
Penelope, Theomanic, lawrenceindestin and Mr. Pessimistic have all made recent donations to BookTalk. I really appreciate their generosity. All of the upgrades and bells and whistles being added to our forums are costing hundreds of dollars per month, so I sincerely appreciate when members offer to help with some of these costs.

You'll notice a new link in the left sidebar called "BookTalk Contributors." This page is part of an effort to acknowledge those members that are financially supporting BookTalk.org. The second part of the effort will be a special title and image attached to each members name based on their level of contribution. Expect to see this within days.

See how many people are currently viewing a forum
Next to each forum name there is a message that tells you how many other members and/or guests are currently viewing that forum.

Show your national flag
We've added a new feature allowing members to show an image of their national flag under their names in the left sidebar. Enter your profile and look for the drop down box for national flags. Select your own.

Global Announcements
You're reading a global announcement right now. This is a new feature added to make sure that everyone gets the latest BookTalk news no matter which forums they are in. Global Announcements appear at the top of every forum.
