FICTION & NON-FICTION POLLS
It's about time to do our polling for both our fiction and non-fiction books. Have you made any book suggestions? There's still time to get involved, suggest a book or two, and most importantly, comment on the books your fellow members have suggested. Without follow-up comments on book suggestions it is very difficult to determine whether or not a particular book is of interest to anyone other than the person suggesting it. So please visit the "Non-Fiction Book Suggestions & Polls" and "Fiction Book Suggestions & Polls" forums and speak your mind! And be sure to say a few words as to WHY you are suggesting your book suggestion. The new polls will be created soon.

NEW BOOKTALK.ORG STORE
You may have noticed that we have our CafePress store back up and running. The only reason it ever was closed was because we changed our slogan a little over a year ago. We needed to redesign the logo/slogan artwork that is printed on the BookTalk.org merchandise and this has now been done. So please visit our new store and consider promoting BookTalk.org by ordering and proudly displaying the BookTalk.org logo. There is NO markup on our store products. The profit is literally set to zero percent. All money goes to CafePress as they handle the printing and shipping of everything. This store is for fun and for promoting BookTalk.org, not for a profit.

NEW LINKS / PAGES
We've added a few new links to the left sidebar that should be fun to explore. First all all you'll see a link to the "BookTalk.org Store." And then there is a new link to "Our Forum Statistics," which shows we're at over 300,000 page views per month. I've added a "Member Photos" link because our photo album isn't getting enough use and the photos that are already uploaded to the album are not easy to find. This new link should make the photo album feature easier to use.

FEWER ADS
In an effort to reduce the total space taken up by ads on BookTalk.org we have made some great changes. First of all we're now offering private ads which generate more income for the community than Google AdSense ads. And as a result of adding a few of these private ads we have deleted more than 50% of the Google ads off the site. As more private ad space is sold we'll delete ALL of the Google ads, which should clean up the overall look.
Please support the private advertisers by checking out their sites and products.
http://mybooktunes.com/ offers a means for bookmarking (remembering) where you last stopped when listening to your iPod audio books. I'm personally loving my new iPod and audio books are simply incredible to listen to while driving or working out, but it can be frustrating trying to find your last stopping point. MyBookTunes.com solves the problem quite nicely.
Leeann Burke has a brand new novel out called "Deadly Secrets," and you can visit Amazon.com to read reviews.

Again, you're supporting BookTalk.org by checking out our advertisers sites and products. Marketing books and book-related products is not easy so support our authors and advertisers by giving their books and products a glance and chance. Hey, that rhymed.

UPDATE YOUR PROFILES
Please update your profiles to include your geographic location. Lately a few people have emailed me asking if the map feature found in the left sidebar constitutes updating their profiles. No, this map is not even on our site and is only a fun little feature for graphically representing how our membership is dispersed throughout the world. Edits to your map entry do not effect your BookTalk.org profile, so please click on the "Profile" link under the green navigation bar to edit your profile. While you're at it add an avatar, your gender, your flag and a signature.

FREE BOOKS
Want some free books? Join me in the "Contests & Book Giveaways" forum to help me decide who deserves a free book or two. As a general rule "Book Discussion Leaders" will automatically get a free book. We might apply this new rule retroactively.
