The 12th Disciple $3.99 (USD) on Kindle…

The price of The 12th Disciple has been updated to $3.99 for Kindle readers. The book is still available for free to borrow for Amazon Prime members.  To be competitive, and stimulate interest in the story, the price reduction is necessary for broader market penetration.

The 12th Disciple is religious fiction that brings modern day Disciples together before Revelation. Disciples come from all over the world with different faiths and two of them are women. The book is action packed and influenced by the Bible and people who choose to serve their countries and leaders.

Feel free to review the book at Amazon if you pick up a copy. Cheers and thanks for the support!

The 12th Disciple reviews…

The 12th Disciple has been reviewed by two different people on Amazon. They purchased the Kindle edition; one in the US, one in the UK. One review was 5-stars (US) and the other was 1-star (UK). So what to think?

Reviews are important to the writing process and I value all of them. Am I surprised that the book received a 1-star? Yes, but probably as much as I was surprised that The 12th Disciple received a 5-star. I got some feedback from another “religious reader” indicating that she had to check her value system at the beginning of the book and remind herself the book was fiction. That feedback helped me understand that people feel strongly about their religious beliefs and ideals.

In know the 1-star reviewer read the entire novel, which is unusual given the low score of the review. However, I appreciate the comments and will take them into consideration for the sequel. The sequel is 35 pages complete and a continuation of The 12th Disciple story. I look to finish the book by summer’s end and hope to release volume 2 shortly thereafter.

I hope that if you read The 12th Disciple, you take the time to write a review for the book on Amazon (Kindle or Print). I look forward to the feedback and incorporate ideas into future chapters of any book that I’m working on.

Thanks to everyone for the support of The 12th Disciple and thank you for taking time to provide feedback: good, bad, or indifferent!

Cheers

Good Friday, Better Saturday, Blessed Sunday

Easter teaches many of us the importance of redemption and resurrection. Regardless of what faith people follow, the story of Jesus Christ has been told in many languages in many countries. Even other faiths recognize the importance of Jesus’ teachings and parables for a very contentious world, past and present.

The 12th Disciple book was written with the Gospels of the New Testament in mind. How do the Gospels apply to today’s world? How can atheist and agnostics feel that they’re part of a broader experience? How can a book show that the Gospel is not meant for Christians, but everyone and anyone? How do John’s visions of Revelation apply to today’s world?

Several of these questions and similar questions are answered in The 12th Disciple. While the book is religious fiction, new ideas of spirituality and religion bubble up in 316 pages of action, mystery, a love story, and redemption. Enjoy the read and Happy Easter!

There’s an election this year?

The 12th Disciple’s endorsement for a Presidential Candidate…we’ll pass. If many haven’t learned over the past several decades, centuries, and millennia, the government shouldn’t be a place to turn for family values and ethical living. Your independence from the government will make you stronger now and for years to come.

I’m all for electing an individual that knows how to run a government, balance a budget, fix roads, and keep our military strong. I’m not too keen on keeping people dependent on social programs and government hand outs. There was a time in the United States when the private sector did a much better job of taking care of the poor and sick. We should look at our own communities and churches as a place to spend our money to help those in transition. Cook a meal for a family suffering with illness or income, drop off clothes and furniture at your local shelter so they may resell and create jobs for those with disabilities or in half way programs. Support local AA programs that are working with disease and addiction.

Start in your local communities, as that will benefit people you know quicker than anything else. Volunteer, research local programs, and give with your time, talent, and treasure. The Feds have already shown they can redistribute wealth, go into debt, and completely ruin programs nationwide. The less dependence we create, the more INDEPENDENCE we’ll share on the 4th every year.

Cheers…

Many of us have made our resolutions for 2012 and look forward to losing weight, reading more, or perhaps going to church, temple, or a mosque more. It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year…For Some.

The 12th Disciple is up and running. We have a page on Facebook if you’d like to come join us for updates and other miscellaneous debris.

Hanukkah runs from the 20th-28th.

Christmas is on the 25th every year.

I’m reminded, and hear on occasion, that this is the most wonderful time of the year. However, as national debt continues to rise for many countries and people are affected by unemployment and the cutting of more and more social services, this may not be a great time for millions of people across the globe.

Christmas and Hanukkah represent the gift of giving and how we can do the same. As more people stack up in parking lots and on street corners asking for a hand out, we are reminded of how many people are on hard times. Whether it’s time, talent, or treasure, we should all be reminded that this is the season of giving…especially to those we don’t even know sometimes.
