Beloved Spirit ~ Poetry loosely inspired by 9/11
Have you heard of Alexandra Villard de Borchgrave? Maybe you have heard of some of her previous works. In fact poetry is not her 'normal' field of expertise. But, inspired by 9/11, this is her third collection of inspirational poetry.
I am working on behalf of the publisher to promote this book and what has shocked me the most is the response of readers to how warming the writing is. Comforting is the word I hear back most from readers - I hope you feel the same.
Beloved Spirit; Pathways to Love, Grace and Mercy.
Alexandra Villard de BorchgraveIn the wake of 9/11, author Alexandra Villard de Borchgrave took solace in a short prayer. She sensed a spirit of forgiveness at a harrowing time in a complicated modern world. This became a time of unexpected inspiration for Alexandra, who had never written poetry before. Now, ten years on from that fateful day, Alexandra Villard de Borchgrave releases the final chapter of her inspirational poetry trilogy: Beloved Spirit; Pathways to Love, Grace and Mercy.
In Alexandra’s words, this latest chapter describes “an intimate moment of surrender, a time when the soul may connect with a higher being, light, spirit, or God, a part of which I am convinced resides within all of us.” ‘Beloved Spirit’ is a beautiful collection of poetry that offers solace and words filled with clairvoyant guidance. The collection is structured to align with times of the day, perhaps also hinting at our stages of life: Before Dawn; Daybreak; Midday; Sunset; Twilight; Moonrise; Night, and Midnight.
This exquisite release pairs poetry with art beautifully, creating a body of work as impressive for its literary content as its artwork. As inspiring as Alexandra’s words are, they are enriched by the accompanying, rare and mostly unseen sixteenth-century Persian images. Each of the paintings shown in detail as accompaniment to the poems are featured in full-frame as a resource appendix, allowing unprecedented access to artwork contained in the prestigious Freer Gallery of Art Collection at the Smithsonian Institution.
‘Beloved Spirit; Pathways to Love, Grace and Mercy’ is truly an inspirational collection of poetry for our time.
Alexandra Villard de Borchgrave’s previous poetry collections ‘Healing Light: Thirty Messages of Love, Hope, and Courage’ and ‘Heavenly Order: Twenty Five Meditations of Wisdom and Harmony’ are now available with ‘Beloved Spirit’ as a special collection; ‘Trilogy’.
