I noticed a person has posted in an archived book thread, and it didn't update the "Last Comment" stamp. I have no idea how often that's happened, but something like that might be a missed opportunity at holding another member or simply a decent dialogue. p090.ezboard.com/fbooktal...ic&index=5

The problem is the Archived Books forum is not really a forum anymore. It is simply a link to the Books page. I really don't know what the solution to this problem is. I've thought about it quite a bit.

If you decide to grant Mr. P's request, my request is that you put the archived discussions at the bottom of the page, so that they don't obstruct easy access to the more frequently updated general forums.

That sounds fine. Web pages that make you scroll down a lot for something people use frequently are just one of my pet peeves.

We tried this and everyone complained and said the page was way too tall and looked like hell. We would have to double the height of the forums page and STILL nobody would post in the old books.

I like that our previous reads are on the forum page again. After all, we are a book discussion community. In this way, as soon as one goes to our forums page, one can quickly and clearly see the kinds of books we discuss at BookTalk. Having them listed there not only clearly gives a new visitor an idea of what we discuss, but emphasizes that we are a book discussion community.

I'm going to leave them out. We get visitors that have read our older selections and they might want to read the comments or add their own.

I am thinking of reading either Red Queen or Blank Slate soon...so I will add some thoughts when I do. I have had these books for a while now so I think it is time I read them!
