Hi,
As a very new member to this forum, I first want to say how welcoming and friendly everyone has been. Thanks to the members for their kindness, and to the forum owner for creating such a great space.
I do have a topic suggestion though. A 'teach me / ask me' forum.
I have seen it done on other message boards, quite successfully. It is a seperate topic area where threads such as "Please teach me about logical arguments" are started. And someone (or several people) who have an interest in both teaching, and the topic, could answer. Those answers could then be discussed.
Alternatively, someone who is interested in discussing logical arguments would start a thread such as "Ask me about logical arguments". Anyone with questions would ask them there.... this one is especially interesting, because you might not have realised you have questions about some topics, until you read the thread title. (The 'ask me' component is also a great ice breaker, as you learn a lot about people's special interests through this forum method.)
BTW - in case it wasn't entirely obvious, if there is anyone who is interested in teaching or discussing logical arguments.... you'll have at least one eager participant.

| Wow, I think that's a really great suggestion. And I think it could potentially add a much needed collaborative element to BookTalk -- we tend to be more combative, so some more constructive interaction ought to be good for the community. |
